Imperial is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable HR Specialist – Benefits Administration to oversee the administration of employee benefits programs in our HRIS platform, UKG, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA/HSA, COBRA, 401(k), and leave of absence programs. This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all benefit-related regulations and will serve as a key contact for employees with benefits-related questions or issues. The ideal candidate will be analytical, highly organized, and dedicated to providing a positive employee experience.

Salary: $60,000 - $65,000

Location: Hybrid (4 Days Onsite) - Bourbon, Mo.

What You’ll be Doing

  • Administer and manage employee benefit programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and COBRA administration.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all benefits-related matters, providing guidance to employees and management.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment processes, including vendor communications, employee education, and system updates.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA).
  • Process and audit monthly benefits invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.
  • Support employees with leave administration including FMLA, personal leave, and disability claims.
  • Partner with payroll to ensure proper benefit deductions and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to review, analyze, and recommend improvements to benefits programs.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS to reflect benefit selections accurately.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards on benefits utilization, participation rates, and cost analysis.

What We Need

  • 1-2+ years of experience in human resources or benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge of health and welfare benefit plans, 401(k) administration, and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Experience managing open enrollment cycles and resolving complex benefits inquiries.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with UKG or similar systems is a plus.
  • High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee situations with discretion and empathy.
