Title: Safety Lead

Report to: Operations Manager

Department: Operations

Imperial is seeking a hands-on Safety Lead to support and strengthen our safety culture across our manufacturing facility in Bourbon, MO. This role is ideal for a motivated safety professional who is ready to grow into a dedicated safety career — someone who is comfortable on the production floor, eager to build relationships with employees, and passionate about creating a safer workplace every day.

Salary: $55K-$60K

Full Time Location:

On-Site - Bourbon, Mo.

What You'll be Doing

  • Support the execution of safety programs across our manufacturing facility
  • Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to reinforce safe behaviors and build employee trust
  • Conduct floor walkthroughs, safety observations, and basic audits to identify risks and improve compliance
  • Identify hazards in embroidery, heat press, silkscreen, and other production operations and communicate findings to leadership
  • Assist in maintaining Job Hazard Analyses, safe work procedures, and visual safety practices
  • Support incident investigations including near misses, first aid cases, and recordables, and assist with follow-up on corrective actions
  • Help coordinate and deliver safety training for new hires and current employees
  • Track and monitor basic safety metrics and help identify trends or gaps
  • Support employee safety engagement efforts including hazard reporting and safety observations
  • Partner with plant leadership to ensure safety expectations are clearly communicated and consistently applied

What We Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with safety responsibilities
  • Comfortable working on the production floor and engaging with employees at all levels
  • Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and hazard identification
  • Willingness to support or participate in incident investigations and corrective action follow-up
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and grow in a safety role
  • Ability to support multiple shifts as needed
  • Experience with 5S, standard work, or other lean concepts is a plus
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while working at a computer or workstation
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and keyboards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via electronic communication
  • Occasional ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to move throughout the facility, including walking, bending, and reaching as needed
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read screens, documents, and reports
