Imperial is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Summer Intern to support our day-to-day Level 1 Helpdesk operations. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in enterprise IT support while building foundational skills in troubleshooting, ticket management, user support, and escalation procedures. This position reports directly to the Network Operations Manager.

What You'll Be Doing
- Provide Level 1 technical support for end users through the ticketing system, email, phone, and in-person requests
- Troubleshoot common hardware, software, printer, connectivity, and peripheral issues
- Assist users with account access issues, password resets, and basic Microsoft 365 support
- Document technical issues clearly in the helpdesk system and follow standard escalation procedures when needed
- Support workstation setup, equipment swaps, and onboarding-related IT tasks
- Escalate issues to Level 2 or the Network Operations team when they exceed Level 1 scope
- Follow established IT policies, security standards, and troubleshooting procedures
- Assist with routine IT tasks and special projects as assigned
- Gain exposure to enterprise helpdesk workflows, troubleshooting methodology, and IT operations in a production environment
What We Need
- Currently pursuing coursework or a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or demonstrated technical interest
- Strong customer service mindset with clear verbal and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and common business applications
- Ability to follow documented procedures and work within defined escalation paths
- Dependable, eager to learn, and willing to take direction from team leadership
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized while managing multiple support requests
- Interest in learning more about networking, systems administration, and IT operations
